About the project

Music as a tool for change.

Studio Solutions is a community-focused music initiative designed to engage young people aged 12 to 24 in a safe, creative, and professionally equipped recording environment. Working in partnership with social services, youth organisations, and referral agencies, the project provides access to real studio experiences that many young people would otherwise never have.

The programme is built on the belief that music is a powerful tool for self-expression, personal development and positive change. Whether a young person arrives with years of experience or has never touched a microphone, we welcome them where they are and support them to grow.

The studio is not just a recording space — it is a place where young people can feel heard, valued, and capable.

Our goals

Built on four core principles.

01

Engagement

A structured, purposeful activity that motivates young people to participate consistently and take ownership of their creative work.

02

Fun

A relaxed, enjoyable environment where young people feel free to express themselves without judgement or pressure.

03

Therapeutic Benefit

Music as a channel for emotional expression, stress relief and building self-worth, particularly for young people facing personal or social challenges.

04

Creativity

Original thinking, artistic development and the confidence to share personal ideas with others.

Pathways

Education

Connecting participants with music-related courses, qualifications and further learning opportunities.

Employability

Introducing young people to careers in the creative industries — performance, production, sound engineering and artist management.

Who we work with

Built around referral partners.

We welcome referrals from

  • Social services and care teams
  • Youth offending teams and probation services
  • CAMHS and mental health support workers
  • Schools, pupil referral units, and alternative education providers
  • Community organisations and youth charities

A collaborative approach

We are committed to working collaboratively with referral partners to ensure that each participant is appropriately supported before, during, and after their sessions. All practitioners hold an Enhanced DBS certificate, and a signed referral form is required before sessions begin.
